Waterfell

OFFERING A UNIQUE AND LUXURIOUS HIGHLAND EXPERIENCE

Waterfell is a single storey, eco-friendly house that has an open plan and contemporary design. The large windows make the most of the amazing views and wonderful setting as it cantilevers over the small burn 'Alt Dubachain'.  This larch clad one-bedroom architectural gem sleeps two and careful thought has gone into ensuring that everything necessary for a memorable and comfortable stay is available. This is no tiny off grid pod that feels cramped after a couple of days.

The house has been designed and built in early 2021 by Echo Living, an award-winning company that develops unique one-off buildings in their factory on the Scottish borders. The building is brought to site in fully formed modules and then craned into position. A perfect way to build in the, sometimes challenging Scottish environment.

The modern design and finishes deliver a unique and uplifting experience with fantastic views from every window.

Enter through the steel gate in the dry stoned wall into a courtyard. The stoned raised garden and covered entrance create a lovely outside space from which to soak up the unique atmosphere of the surroundings. You have space to hang up coats and stow walking boots before entering the house.

Step down from the lovely, timber floored entrance hall into the light, airy and open living space that has distinct areas for cooking and dining, reading, relaxing, watching tv or for simply looking at the beautiful surroundings. A woodburner gives a lovely cosy feeling to the lounge area. A built- in sofa and floating bench seat by the windows allow you to relax wherever you choose and enjoy the elevated view from the cantilever over the small burn running below.

The purpose built stylish modern kitchen has ample storage and is equipped with appliances, including a four ring induction hob, fitted oven and a large retro style fridge/freezer. In fact, everything needed to prepare, cook and accompany all the fantastic local produce! ( Note that there is not a dishwasher nor washing machine)

The lounge has a large smart tv connected to a surround sound bar. You can watch your favourite Netflix programmes and also bluetooth phones and computers through the sound system. High speed wifi ensures you can stay connected. A contemporary dining table and chairs allow you to eat in comfort whilst the art around the house will call for your attention.

The woodburner will give warmth and comfort when the temperatures go down although, in our experience, the house remains wonderfully warm whatever the weather outside. Controllable underfloor heating will keep you warm when the temperatures start to dip.

Our house has a spacious separate bedroom with high quality ensuite facilities to provide flexibility on individuals bed times.

The bedroom has lovely views towards the loch, which you can enjoy from the comfort of the hand built super-king sized bed after a long day of adventure exploring the surrounding countryside. The ensuite bathroom has a bath with a powerful overhead shower, integrated toilet and basin.

Please note that the house has 3 steps down from the hall into the living area so may not suit those with mobility issues. Due to the large number of sheep roaming freely on the roads and fields around the property we cannot accept pets.

Outside

No need to feel locked inside the house, wander outside to enjoy the beautiful and wild surroundings.

Carefully clamber down to the burn and dip your toes in the water. Explore you way down to the shores of Loch Broom and it's pebble beach, wander along to a 2,500 year old ruin or walk out the front door and up the hills to see amazing views of Munros, Ullapool and the Summer Isles out to sea.

There is a dedicated car parking space at the front of the house.
